What
are the minimum system requirements?
Our software is designed as single user only. It is suitable for all versions of
Windows from 98 to XP and requires a maximum of 5MB of disk space to install. No
pre-installed software is required.
What are the limitations of the Possum Calculator compared to Surgical Logbook? The Possum Calculator stores the Possum preop and operative values for each patient and calculates the Possum and P-Possum scores. No other personal or operation details are recorded. To record full patient operation details, the Surgical Logbook is
required.
How many
patient operations can the Surgical Logbook store? The non-registered version of the Logbook allows up to five patient operations to be stored. After registration the only limit is the amount of free space on the hard disc. With modern computers, this limit is unlikely to be
reached.
What happened to the Horus Logbook? Horus has been superceded by the Surgical Logbook which has been upgraded to take advantage of features offered by current versions of Windows. Additional patient information is included with an improved user interface. The Logbook retains all the audits and listings of Horus with added facilities to sort as required.
Can I upgrade from the Horus
Logbook? If you have purchased the Horus logbook, it can be upgraded to the Surgical Logbook. However there are issues regarding preserving existing data so please contact us first for advice so data is not inadvertently
destroyed.
Do I have to set up all my own operation and hospital codes etc? The Logbook has a large number of preset OPCS operation codes grouped by speciality. Additional codes may be included with the recommendation that the appropriate OPCS codes are used. Some participations and complications are also included. Hospitals and surgeons are added during patient entry.
